Welcome! My name is Panyu Chen, and this is my website.

About Me

I am a graduated Master’s student in the Department of Computer Science at Duke University. I received my Master’s degree in May 2025. In 2023, I received my Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Honors Mathematics from New York University Shanghai.

Research

My research background lies in the union of interpretable machine learning, applied mathematics, and AI4Science (especially in healthcare and biology). Currently, I’m exploring new methods in representing and explaining complex systems, such as the physical system, and disease progression, and the nervous system. I’m also personally interested in how recent advances in generative modeling and graph-based models will push forward studies in “capturing the underlying structure of a complex system”.
